Well, here were are, 8 weeks later and your new Life Groups should be finishing up. As I sit here this morning, wondering what to write in, I'm reminded of a verse that seems to fit perfectly. The Message version of this verse is especially relevant because of the particular wording used. "Good work! You did your job well. From now on be my partner." (Matthew 25:23) Good work to all of you that stepped up to the challenge of being facilitators! You did your job very well and we appreciate each and every one of you. From now on, we hope and pray that you will become our partners in Life Group Ministry!
What God has equipped you to accomplish with your Life Group, he will certainly equip you to accomplish as a permanent Life Group Leader, if that's the path you decide to take. My encouragement to you this week, is to look over the last 8 weeks and make of list of "successes" or "accomplishments". What were some highlights that encouraged you? What were some things that you did as a facilitator that you ordinarily would not do? What were some ways that you saw God moving in your group? How did you grow spiritually as a facilitator? How did you see others grow in the group? How has this experience changed you and your vision of what these groups are all about? How has it changed your vision of what church is all about? Community?
As you meditate on this experience, spend some time with God and pray about what you want to do from this point on. Is God calling you to move forward as a permanent Life Group Leader? Is God calling your group to become a permanent Life Group? As you spend time in communion with God, He will reveal exactly what the next step is, and you can be sure that whatever it is, He will be faithful and bless your path in the journey of life!
